Greetings! Fiji has lost a great Son. Mr Wahid Ali was a man of vision, He had a humble beginning and did not forget his roots till the end. Mr Ali was a man with success -who has lived well, laughed often and loved everyone; who has gained the respect of business associates and the love of family, friends and employees; and was ever ready to help anyone in need. He has given so much to the people of Fiji, especially in Nadi and Ba. He was a person who set examples of humanity, giving out selflessly, tirelessly, reaching 1000s of helpless people, during disasters in Fiji. If he felt we lack great doctors, he tried to work towards sponsoring medical students who would become great doctors so that no one else will suffer. He faced difficulty in breathing and he bought oxygen tanks for hospitals in Fiji, so that another person does not have to struggle to breathe and so many other good deeds. You will always be remembered fondly and with love and respect, Mr Ali; always in good spirit, smiling, listening to your gazals by the poolside and sharing inspiring encounters or ideas.. Thank you for giving us so much, for doing do much for us... I convey my heartfelt condolences to Mrs Ali, Victor and Alvin, Rachna, Kaajal, Shekhar, and Shaneel. Though nothing anyone says will take away the void space in your lives, I pray that the Almighty gives you all strength to go through this trying times... With sympathy, Shirley Prasad Fiji Islands
