Samuel (Sam) Francisco was our batchmate at the Pio del Pilar High School in Makati City, Philippines. He was known to be a quiet, shy boy In class though he bonded very well with a group of musically-inclined boys in the campus. We formed a high school group called PPHS Batch 66. We have a Facebook website that enabled us to interact with former batchmates and teachers who are scattered in different parts of the world. We have had a number of reunions, most of which were in the Bay Area (Northern California). I personally met Sam in San Jose, California 40 years after high school graduation. There is no denying that Sam had vivid memories of our high school days. During our first meeting, he handed me a beautiful friendship card recollecting how he remembered me in high school. He knew my birthstone was Pearl (which he probably gathered from someone else's high school slum book). The friendship card came with a set of Pearl necklace and earrings; and on my birthday on June 26, 2012 he gifted me with another set of Pearl necklace and earrings. Those were precious tokens of thoughtfulness. A few of Sam's memorable reunions with our batchmates were in Long Beach, Southern California and in Makati City, Philippines. Every high school batchmate was special to Sam, which he manifested by offering them joy and laughter during his brief visits to Makati City. Friendly and thoughtful - that's how our Pio del Pilar High School Batch 66 will remember Samuel "Sam" Francisco. To Kathy and Sam's children and grandchildren, our deepest sympathy. We were saddened by our friend's sudden demise and we grieve as you do. Also extending our condolences to Sam's sister, Elizabeth Francisco Calara (a dear friend); to Lea Francisco, the widow of David Francisco; and to Sam's sister. We know in our hearts that Nanay Sylvia "Seba" Francisco, is very happy to reunite with his beloved son Sam. On behalf of PPHS Batch 66 - Rest in Peace, our dearest friend. May our dear Lord gran
