Obituary For Meriyildo “Burg” “Blondie” Sira

Medi was born in Niles, CA on April 13, 1931. He was a United States Marine and served in the Korean War. He worked at the Steel Mill and then as a truck driver.

Medi had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. Family meant everything to him.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Patricia Sira, his children Wayne, Albert and Bernice; 10 grandchildren Veronica, Robert, Albert Jr., Crystal, Mary, Angelina, Yvonne, Angelo, Benjamin and Amanda; 15 great-grandchildren Meghan, Maaliyah, Robert Jr., Carmela, Joshua, Jessica, Aurora, Cameron, Ariel, Kailah, Tayah, Aidan, Jonah, Maxwell and Noah; 10 siblings Noto, Ines, Nieves, Ida, Ventura, Steven, Jimmie, Glory, Louie, and Alice.

He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Mary Sira; 3 brothers Chickadee, Manuel, Jesse and 3 sisters Helen, Blanche, Emily.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2019, 5 - 8 PM, at Fremont Memorial Chapel, 3723 Peralta Blvd, Fremont. With a Vigil Service at 6:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, March 29, 2019, 11 AM, at St. Edward Catholic Church, 5788 Thornton Ave, Newark. Burial to follow at Chapel of the Chimes Hayward.

    I first met Medi back in 2006, he was very kind and humorous, every time he came to Costco he had a sense of humor that had us all smiling or laughing, I would ask him if he had a ride and he would respond..my burro is waiting for me outside.
