A replica of the coffin in which president Abraham Lincoln is buried is on display at the Patterson House at Ardenwood Historic Farm Regional Park beginning Labor Day Weekend. Fremont Memorial Chapel, in partnership with Batesville Casket Company, is hosting this unique historical exhibit for a limited time. It is one of five replicas made 10 years ago by the Batesville Casket Company of Indiana. The coffin was built on the only known surviving 1865 photograph of the one in which President Lincoln is shown lying in state. Four of the five coffin replicas travel the nation for display at funeral homes and the fifth remains as part of the permanent collection at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, Illinois The replica of Lincoln’s coffin, in the Patterson House at the Ardenwood Historic Farm Regional Park, 34600 Ardenwood Blvd., Fremont, CA 94555, will be on display Saturday, September 5th to Sunday, September 13th. Open Thursday to Sunday, 11am to 4pm. Park admission: $6 Adults/$5 Seniors/$4 Children. Hourly house tours are free with park admission. Inquire at park entrance.
